Types Of Digital Marketing

Digital Marketing has become a buzzword over the past few years. And with good reason; it is effective and provides some great results for your business as well as consumers.

But how can you use Digital Marketing to its fullest potential?

Social Media Marketing

This type of marketing takes advantage of social media sites like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and more to drive users towards a specific website or product.

It allows companies to engage directly with current and future customers and provide information about their products and services without coming across as too promotional.

Also known as SMM (social media marketing), this type of digital marketing works by targeting certain demographics depending on what they are looking for.

For example, if someone were searching for "How To Lose Weight Fast" then an ad for a weight loss program or supplement would show up on their Facebook newsfeed.

Social Media Marketing also works by tracking what people are interested in, which is why you see similar posts in your feed.

For example, if one of your friends posted about "How To Lose Weight Fast" then maybe the next time you log into Facebook you would see an ad for that same product.

This can be extremely effective and companies pay millions to advertise this way.

Digital Distribution

Digital Distribution simply means providing access to digital content such as music, movies, and books through services like iTunes and Spotify.

The rise of smartphones has caused more and more consumers to use apps to streamline their lives instead of having multiple devices across various platforms (one for listening to music, one for watching movies, etc).

Affiliate Marketing

Affiliate Marketing is not as effective as it once was, but can still make a decent impact on your business. Affiliate marketing works by allowing businesses to advertise other sites via an affiliate link.

When someone clicks on this link and buys something from that site then the owner of the affiliate link will receive a percentage of that sale.

This type of marketing is also known as "Performance Marketing" because you are only paid when actual performance occurs (when someone actually buys something).

For example, if you have an affiliate link for AirBnB and someone clicks on your link and books a stay at their location within 24 hours then you would earn money off that booking. You don't earn money unless a booking actually occurs.

Display/Banner Advertising

Display or banner advertising is another traditional type of marketing that has been used for years online and offline.

It is still very effective for certain products, especially physical products like food and drinks where you can see a picture of it on the ad itself.

However, this method does not work as well with intangible products such as software or services since those require more explanation from the advertiser to really understand what they're offering.

Video Marketing

Video Marketing uses video content as a way to promote your company, product, or service.

This allows companies to create unique videos that captivate their audience and explain exactly what they have to offer in a short amount of time without coming across as too salesy.

Video Marketing is incredibly effective because it can be used on multiple platforms to reach a wider audience and the message is usually very clear and concise since people don't want to sit through a long video.

Search Engine Optimization

SEO (search engine optimization) refers to the process of optimizing content and websites for search engines like Google and Bing.

This type of marketing involves using keywords that are relevant to your brand, product, or service as well as backlinks from other sites to help improve rankings in SERPs (search engine results pages).

Content Marketing

Content marketing provides free helpful content such as articles via blog posts or videos that your target audience wants to see.

The goal is not only to provide information about your business but also to inform users on how to solve problems.

This allows marketers to form relationships with their audience and establish themselves as experts in their field.

Influencer Marketing

Influencer marketing is the process of partnering up with other companies who have a big influence on your target audience to promote your brand or product.

For example, if you are Nike then you would team up with an athlete that people look up to (like Lebron James) to create content that features both of you.

The goal is not only to gain exposure but also to gain trust from your target audience since this famous person believes in the same products/services you do which means others should too!

As you can see there are many different types of digital marketing available for businesses today each one offering unique benefits and campaign structure.

Marketing Tactics

The Four Major Categories of Digital Marketing

Since there are so many methods available for marketing your business online it's important to have an understanding of which techniques fit together and complement each other as well as those that work against each other.

It is common for marketers to use multiple digital marketing tactics simultaneously because, when used correctly, they can help create a synergistic impact on your website's rankings in Google.

The four major categories of digital marketing include SEO, SEM, Social Media, and Content Marketing. Although these terms may be familiar it is important to understand the distinction between them so you don't mix them up!

SEO (Search Engine Optimization) refers to optimizing your content for search engines like Google by using keywords and backlinks which makes it more likely to show up in search results and improve your ranking.

SEM (Search Engine Marketing) is the process of using SEO as well as ad networks like Google Adwords and Bing Ads to generate traffic from search engines.

Social Media is a digital marketing tactic that involves promoting your business through social media sites like Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram as well as content sharing platforms like YouTube and Snapchat.

You can use this method by creating posts or videos on these social media sites about your company, product, or service and sharing those links with your target audience on these platforms.

It's important to note that Social Media often works best when combined with other promotional efforts such as SEO and SEM because you're able to reach a wider audience.

Content Marketing is the process of creating content that your target audience wants to see. For example, if you are a shoe company then you could provide helpful tips on how to choose shoes for different needs or even write articles about famous athletes and their favorite sneakers – this way users will be more likely to share the content with their friends and family which in turn promotes your business!

It's important to note that content marketing doesn't always need to include promotional material about your business (although they do work best when used together).

However, most businesses who use this tactic usually want to promote their products/services or brand as well because it usually provides some form of revenue.

By incorporating all four digital marketing techniques (SEO, SEM, Social Media and Content Marketing) you're able to create a synergistic effect on your website that will help it rank higher in search engines as well as create more exposure which allows you to reach a wider range of potential customers.

Digital marketing has evolved over the years into (arguably) one of the most effective and affordable ways for businesses large and small to market their products/services online.

By taking advantage of these different methods businesses can easily connect with their target audience without spending too much time or money!

It's important to mention that there's no such thing as an expert in all digital marketing tactics since each tactic works best when combined with other promotional efforts – just remember SEO, SEM, Social Media, and Content Marketing!
