"What exactly is Fiverr?" I hear you ask!
Fiverr is the world's largest marketplace for small services. All affordable priced at $5. Just about anything you can think of, someone will have made an offer to do it for $5 on Fiverr!
For anyone that isn't familiar with Fiverr, it's very easy to understand. It basically works like eBay, but instead of selling physical objects, you sell services and tasks. Fiverr is a marketplace for this online micro-tasks, ranging from logo designs to SEO work, stock photos to video editing, and even personal training sessions!
On the site, you can create your own profile which includes a professional-looking portfolio of all of your gigs. You can also make it so that people can view your offers without even signing up for an account. It really is an all-inclusive site with plenty of opportunities.
This article will explain how to get started on Fiverr, from creating a professional-looking profile to set up your first gigs!
Step 1: Signing up
First things first, you need to sign up for an account before you can begin selling services. If you haven't already done so, then click here to sign up.
The next thing you need to do is fill out your profile. This will be what potential buyers see when they are looking for a gig, so this must look good! I would recommend including photos of the work and samples of your portfolio.
The final thing you can do to make your profile look professional is adding endorsements from clients and customers as well as 'testimonials' from satisfied customers with their comments. This will help to cement your credibility and allow potential buyers to see what others think about your services.
After you've created your profile, it's time to get out there and market yourself! You may choose to use a link-building method such as guest posting (this works very well on Fiverr) or any similar method that will help you get traffic to your site so that people can view your gigs.Â
Step 2: Creating your Gigs
When you log into Fiverr, you will see a menu at the top left of your screen. You can click on 'My services' to view all of the gigs you have created or copied (if you haven't yet done so, read this article first!)
In the right-hand column, there is a button that says 'add a new gig'. Click on this and you will be taken to the page where you can create your own gigs.
To start creating gigs, you need to have an idea of what it is that you are selling. Are you going to be offering design services? Does SEO work? Photographs? Sound clips? Anything is possible!
Let's start with a simple example of selling a logo design service. All you need to do is enter your gig name (remember that this should be concise but appealing), description, and upload images for potential buyers to see what they can expect from you. You will then be prompted to select the number of gigs that you are offering and the price. It's very important that your price is affordable, but also that it is worth people's while!
It's also important to include any relevant tags and keywords, such as 'logo design' or 'logo design service'. This will help potential buyers to find your profile if they are searching for something specific.
Step 3: Get inspired by other Gigs
The last thing you need to do before you start selling is to get your feet wet and make a few sales (or at least some free trial gigs!) To do this, you need to 'copy' a gig that has already been created.
You can do so by clicking on the 'gigs' option from your menu in the top left-hand corner of your screen. You will see any gigs that you have created or copied on this page. Clicking on any of these will take you to the gig itself where you can edit and personalize the content.
Step 4: Marketing Yourself
This is by far the most important aspect of your work. You will need to market yourself to get sales, but also to get the exposure that you need to become a successful Fiverr seller. There are multiple ways of doing this, including:
Social Media
The first way is through Social Media. You can use sites such as Twitter and Facebook to promote your services and gain followers/likes etc. This serves two purposes - it helps to spread awareness of your services and it also allows you to interact with potential customers.
Social Bookmarking Sites
The next way is to market yourself on Social bookmarking sites such as Digg, Stumbleupon, and Reddit. This is a great way of getting people interested in what you have to offer, as they will be able to read through posts and share with people they know.
This article is merely meant to serve as a basic guide to starting on Fiverr.
If you really want to make it a success, don't be afraid to ask for help. You will find that most people are willing to help you out when you get started, and this will help you to develop a reputation as someone trustworthy. If you are well-known on Fiverr, people may even be willing to pay for your services - the possibilities are endless!
Don't forget about SEO either - there are many online guides for people learning how to optimize their content for search engines.
Good luck and happy selling!
